Media response - car repair bill

• A woman is complaining that a council tree fell on her car and wants council to pay the $4300 repair bill. She says the tree has been the subject of many complaints from the businesses which own the car park she was in. Just want to know if she will be compensated.

A claim was lodged with council yesterday regarding this incident and this is now being forwarded to council’s liability insurer, the Local Government Association Mutual Liability Scheme (LGAMLS).

LGAMLS will investigate the claim and contact the client directly during the claims process.
