Response to the Fleurieu Sun.

• The journalist asked for some comments about the new change rooms at Noarlunga Recreation Ground in Old Noarlunga.

Onkaparinga Mayor Moira Were said the City of Onkaparinga, the Noarlunga football and cricket clubs, and the Noarlunga Sports and Social Club banded together to advocate for funds for the building.

“This project shows the value of community and council collaboration,” she said.

“Clubs like those at the Noarlunga Recreation Ground contribute so much to Onkaparinga and our way of life, providing opportunities for families to stay healthy and active.”

“They also build connection and help people stay engaged with our communities – both on the field and off.

“When we invest in a project like this, we’re not just investing in bricks and mortar, we’re investing in communities.

“These projects are important in modernising the facilities at the recreation ground and making sure they’re accessible to everyone.”
