Spray Society Ink

Spray Society Ink will provide young people with legal opportunities for creative expression and support their professional development in the area of street art. Up to 40 young artists under the age of 26 will be mentored by established and emerging street artists such as Thomas Readett, Leah Grant, Adam Poole-Mottishaw, Zhaine Reynolds and Mark Twohig, to learn skills and best practice for creating aerosol art and experience pathways into creative industries.

Street art is interesting, creative and unrestricted. It’s an incredibly diverse and varied art movement, one that is growing in popularity as work being exhibited in the streets continues to develop in terms of size, style, and sheer skill.

This program is a platform to build mutual respect between young people, council and the community to increase the understanding and appreciation of street art as an interesting and valuable artform, and more than simply “vandalism”.

This project has been assisted by the South Australian Government through Carclew.
