Major Festivals and Events Grants
Our Major Festivals and Events Grants support a range of events that encourage visitors to enjoy more of what’s on offer in our vibrant and diverse region.
We want to host major events and festivals that:
- offer something different to other events around the state and align with the strengths of our region
- drive substantial economic impact for our city through event-based visitation
- provide opportunities for state and interstate marketing and promotion of our city and region.
Grants of between $6000 and $30,000 in matched funding are available. Your contribution can be cash (minimum 25% of event costs), items or volunteer hours in the planning and delivery of your event.
Please note that these grants have a strong focus on economic and tourism outcomes. If you are planning an event more focused on community outcomes please consider our Community Events Grants.

We encourage you to contact the Events Officer (contact details in the guidelines) to discuss your project before starting your application.
Applications are now closed and will reopen in July 2023 for events to be delivered in 2024.
