Your Community Leadership Footprint

Leadership Onkaparinga group

Develop your toolkit

  • Are you wanting to better understand the Community Development landscape?
  • Do you want to hone your leadership skills?
  • Do you want to expand your networks

In 2022 the Leadership Onkaparinga theme is ‘Your Community Leadership Footprint’. The program will help you to better understand your role as a community leader and the skills and knowledge required to positively influence outcomes in your community. The program has direct links with our Community Plan.

The City of Onkaparinga invites applications from residents who are interested in leveraging their leadership skills in their community. The program shines the spotlight on the Community Development Framework with a vision to increase awareness, develop resilience, build engagement skills and strengthen community leadership in our region.

Running between June and October, the program will be held face to face (COVID-19 restrictions permitting) and combine facilitator-led conversations, tours, site visits, an on country retreat and opportunities to reflect on what’s important to you as a community leader. A participant contribution of $200 applies towards the on country retreat. We want to make the retreat accessible to all and are able to provide additional assistance to support your attendance if required. Please contact Leigh Aitken, Leadership Onkaparinga Coordinator for further information.

Participants will hear from a range of experts within the sector, providing information, tools and practices relevant for anyone in a community leadership role. Participants will be encouraged to develop or collaborate on community initiatives to benefit our region.

Applications close at 12 noon Friday 20 May 2022.
