Slava and Sharon Grigoryan

This collaboration from two of Australia’s finest classical musicians, Slava and Sharon Grigoryan, combines their formidable talents to present a concert for guitar and cello with works by Vivaldi, Granados, Piazzolla and more.

Regarded as a wizard of the guitar, Slava has forged a prolific reputation as a classical guitar virtuoso. Collaborations have played a huge part in Grigoryan’s career, most notable of these are in the trio with legendary USA guitarist Ralph Towner and Austrian guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel and the duo with brother Leonard Grigoryan. He has received three ARIA awards and an incredible 24 ARIA award nominations. He’s been touring internationally since 2003, regularly performing throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA, as well as more exotic performances in Brazil, South Africa, India and the Middle East. 2023 will see Slava delivering his 9th Adelaide Guitar Festival as artistic director.

From 2008 to 2012 Sharon was a member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Spira Mirabilis Chamber Orchestra, as well as being a core member of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra. In 2015 Sharon performed as a guest with the Australia Ensemble and Australian World Orchestra. She is Artistic Director of the Barossa, Baroque and Beyond Music Festival.
