Food Safety Supervision

Are you aware Food Safety Supervisor training is now compulsory for your business with legislation coming into affect on December 8, 2023?

The supervision of food handler tool requires businesses to appoint a qualified Food Safety Supervisor who is available to oversee day-to-day food handling operations, help food handlers to handle food safely, and make sure food risk is managed.

A Food Safety Supervisor is a person who:

• is trained to recognise and prevent risks associated with food handling in a retail food business
• holds a current SA Food Authority certificate (no more than five years old).

Quality College of Australia is running a one-day workshop for category one businesses who want to obtain their Food Safety Supervisor certificate. They will be covering two units:

• SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety
• SITXFSA006 Participate in sae food handlings practices.
