Sonja Porcaro is an Adelaide based artist working predominantly in sculpture and installation to investigate notions of memory, place, uncertainty and the fluidity of language and representation. Porcaro will explore both the site - including the river (Ngangkiparinga) and the social interactions that occur in and around the neighbourhood, engaging the community as part of the residency. Sound will be explored, in particular, the various languages spoken by locals and visitors, encouraging viewers to consider their relationship with each other and to the location through the visual/tactile and aural outcomes - a line, a curve, a river, a song.
Exhibition dates: Saturday 12 December - Saturday 30 January
Exhibition venue: Sauerbier House, 21 Wearing St, Port Noarlunga SA 5167
