International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations sanctioned day that is recognised worldwide. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. 

To celebrate IDPwD we are hosting an Abilities Expo on 30 November 2019.

We are seeking to engage exhibitors who:

  • Provide products and services which support individuals living with disability, their families and carers 
  • Live with a disability and would like to showcase their products
  • Work with or provide employment opportunities to people with disability; or support people with disabilities
  • Are a local food/beverage business and support/employ people with disability.

Exhibitors will be able to engage with people living with disability and people who are passionate about disability issues. Exhibitors can create positive brand recognition and generate connections with attendees, other exhibitors, and speakers.

Exhibitor applications close 5pm, 2 September 2019.

1-4.30pm guest speakers
5.30-6.15pm dinner/drinks - background music or quieter performance
6.30-8pm evening entertainers

Booth information

Exhibitors will receive a trestle table, table cloth and two chairs. No WiFi or power supply available.

Booth cost - applications close 5pm Monday 2 September
Per Booth:
$60 (Individuals or small groups with no funding)
$95 Businesses - less than 10 staff
$125 Large businesses/government departments              

Early Bird prices – available for applications received by 5pm Monday 19 August
Early Bird registration: $30 discount
Per booth:
$30 Individuals or smalls groups with no funding
$65 Business – less than 10 staff
$95 Large business/government departments

If you are unable to attend and would like your materials promoted; the following charges apply:

Payment Information
You will receive an invoice in the mail. Payment is required prior to the event.

Cancellation policy
If you need to cancel your registration prior to 1 September 2019 a $30 cancellation fee will apply. Exhibitor registration fees are non-refundable after 6 September 2019.

 

Application process

Once we receive your application:

  • You will receive written acknowledgement of the application and may be contacted and asked for further information
  • Your application will go to City of Onkaparinga’s Regional Disability Networks IDPwD Committee who will assess the suitability of your proposed activity/involvement.  Please note City of Onkaparinga reserves the right to deny participation of any entity (commercial or otherwise)
  • You will be notified in writing the outcome of your application in September 2019.

     Submission and assessment process:

  • Applications to be completed online by 5pm Monday 2 September 2019
  • Alternatively, applicants can ring Marie Nicholls, Senior Disability Coordinator on 8384 0661 who can complete the form with you over the phone
  • All submissions will be assessed by City of Onkaparinga’s Regional Disability Networks IDPwD Committee.

 

Terms and conditions

Expo terms and conditions

  1. Booth location will be assigned after payment has been received, and is subject to change at the discretion of the event organiser.
  2. All exhibitors will be provided with a 2.4m table, table cloth and 2 chairs.
  3. Exhibitors may only display products and services which they are legally licensed to sell in Australia, and which have been listed in detail on the Exhibitor Registration Form.  Soliciting and/or distribution of marketing materials and information are limited to the booth areas only, and are not permitted in the aisles.
  4. Exhibitors must remain at their booth from 1pm on Saturday 30 November 2019 until 5.30pm on Saturday 30 November 2019.
  5. Exhibitors are responsible for the security of their exhibition during the Expo.
  6. Exhibitors are discouraged from distributing excessive promotional materials. Exhibitors are encouraged to print promotional materials such as handouts and signage on recycled paper.
  7. Upon acceptance exhibitors wishing to provide food and/or beverage samples at the Expo must complete the online Temporary Food Event Notification https://www.onkaparingacity.com/Services-and-projects/Food-business which will notify the Environmental Health Team. If you have any questions, please send an email to communitysafetygeneral@onkaparinga.sa.gov.au. Food and beverage sampling containers must be certified compostable.
  8. Upon acceptance exhibitors must provide evidence of current public liability insurance with an appropriate level of cover for the activities being undertaken (minimum $10 million).
