Aldinga Beach

Aldinga Beach, Silver Sands

Aldinga Beach is very wide, with firm sand allowing vehicles with a beach pass to access certain sections.

A launching area gives easy access to the water. Here divers can explore the Aldinga Aquatic Reserve with its spectacular ‘drop-off’ (an underwater cliff). The marine life on the edge of the ‘drop off’ has to be seen to be believed.  Large schools of Drummer, Trevally and Blue Devils as well as Leather Jackets, Old Wives, Cuttlefish, Magpie Perch and Harlequin Fish.

Swimming and surfing are also popular here.

If you walk along the boardwalk, you can see the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park.

Dogs are permitted off-leash at any time in the section bounded by the stairs (100m north of Butterworth Road, Aldinga Beach) to the northern side of Ocean Street, Aldinga Beach.

Dogs must be under effective control.

Outside of this area, dogs must be on-leash between the hours of 10am - 8pm during daylight savings time.
