ART is created with imagination and skill expressing important ideas or feelings. It includes activities like music, film and digital content, radio, literature and writing, dance and performance, and a diversity of visual arts such as painting, drawing, murals, and sculpture and the making of objects.

CULTURAL ACTIVITY expresses who we are; our shared beliefs, customs and traditions. Through the arts it can be expressed in the form of painting, sculptures, language, music, dance, festivals and other art forms.

What happens next?

We have collated all the information from stage one community engagement along with stage two in the development of the draft Arts and Cultural Development Action Plan 2022-25.

On Tuesday 8 June 2021 we engaged the Elected Members in a workshop to discuss the community engagement outcomes and to provide feedback on the draft Plan.

Following the Elected Member workshop the Plan went to Council (Strategic Directions Committee) on Tuesday 7 September. The outcome of the meeting was that we needed to further refine our Art Collection Procedure.

We will take the Arts and Cultural Development Action Plan 2022-25 to Council Tuesday 21 September for approval, ready for implementation.
