City of Onkaparinga Contemporary Curator Award The City of Onkaparinga is proud to be partnering with South Australian Living Artist Festival to once again host the City of Onkaparinga Contemporary Curator Award.

This award was open to contemporary curators that operate within the new parameters as outlined by SALA for the 2020 festival. The successful awardee will receive $1000 along with the opportunity to curate a supported [GRAFTd] exhibition at Sauerbier House in 2021 SALA festival.

Shortlisted finalists will be listed in SALA 2020 program from 20 July.

2020 Surf Art Exhibition - Curator

Surf Art exhibition The Arts Centre, Port Noarlunga, is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Curator, 2020 Surf art exhibition.

The Surf Art exhibition marks the beginning of summer and has become one of the pivotal features of the annual program at the Arts Centre, Port Noarlunga.

Carving a place in the hearts and souls of the southern arts calendar, the exhibition celebrates not only surfing culture, but our region’s history, stunning coastal environment and lifestyle.

In liaison with the Arts Centre Co-ordinator, the primary roles of the Curator will be to:

  • Promote the exhibition to potential artists and visitors
  • Liaise with potential sponsors
  • Arrange entertainment for the opening event
  • Book opening speakers for the exhibition opening, and
  • Oversee the installation of the exhibition.

Expressions of Interest are to include a current CV and a one page statement as to what you would bring to the role, and close on Friday 21 August 2020.

Sauerbier House Artist in Residence program

Applications open on 15 July 2020 – and close midnight Monday 28 September 2020.

Practicing, emerging or established, local or visiting contemporary artists, working in any discipline are invited to apply to participate in a long or short-term artist in residence program (non-residential) between July 2021 and June 2022.

As a site-responsive residency, artists are asked to respond to the location or in a broader context, to the City of Onkaparinga.

Long term studio access (three months)

  • Supported exhibition (up to six weeks).
  • Material support of $2000 per residence (paid by schedule) plus in-kind promotional and administrative support.
  • Artist will plan to facilitate opportunities for the community to participate with their practice by way of workshops, demonstrations, artist talks
  • Applicants are required to be over 18 years of age.

Short term studio access (five weeks)

  • Supported exhibition (to be held in Fringe 2022)
  • Material support of $750 plus in-kind promotional support.
  • Artist will plan to facilitate opportunities for the community to participate with their practice by way of workshops, demonstrations, artist talks, etc.
  • Applicants are required to be over 18 years of age.

Arts Centre 2021 Exhibtions - expressions of interest

The Arts Centre, Port Noarlunga, is seeking Expressions of Interest for exhibitions to be presented in the Arts Centre galleries for 2021.

Expressions of Interest are invited for the presentation of new work by artists working in any media.

Expressions of Interest are also invited from Curators, who may like to develop an exhibition of new work by artists working in any media.

Exhibitions spaces are available from February through until November 2021, with all exhibitions generally being on display for 4 weeks.
