Unemployment rates, City of Onkaparinga, 2005-2007
In March 2007 there were 5,019 unemployed people in the City of Onkaparinga, with an overall unemployment rate of 6.9% (compared to 7.4% in 2006). This figure masks the wide variation in unemployment rates within the city, from 12.8% in the North Coast SLA, down to 2.4% in the Reservoir SLA.
The table and charts below show that unemployment in the City of Onkaparinga was slightly higher than the Adelaide metropolitan average in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The overall unemployment rate for Onkaparinga has declined steadily over the past three years, from 7.9% in 2005 to 6.9% in 2007.
