Total primary and secondary school enrolments fell by 1,115 students (4.5%) between 2002 and 2006. Although private schools have an increasing share of the student population, state schools still provide over 74% of all primary and secondary schooling in Onkaparinga. Between 2002 and 2006 state school enrolments fell by 1,754 (-9%) and private school enrolments rose by 639 students (11.7%), as shown in the table and charts below:
