Individual incomes, 2006

There were 119,440 income earners in the City of Onkaparinga in 2006. Of these 58,176 (48.7%) were male and 61,264 (51.3%) were female. There is a disparity between male and female earnings: 71% of females earned less than $600 per week, compared to 48% of males, and 19% of males earned more than $1,000 per week compared to 6.4% of females, a ratio of over 3:1. Taxable incomes, City of Onkaparinga 2005

In the 2005 tax year there were 91,840 taxable individuals in the City of Onkaparinga, an increase of 2,280 (2.5%) on the 2004 figure of 89,560. The 2005 total represents 13.3% of the 693,045 taxable individuals in South Australia.

The highest mean taxable incomes were in the following postcode areas:

  • 5157 (Cherry Gardens, Clarendon, Coromandel Valley, Dorset Vale, Kangarilla) $45,696 a rise of $2,804 (6.5%) on the 2004 figure of $42,892
  • 5160 (Lonsdale) $44,780 (no 2004 figure available for comparison)
  • 5153 (Ironbank) $44,034, a rise of $1,373 (3.2%) on the 2004 figure of $42,661
