Population projections

Most of the population figures in Stats & Facts are based on Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data, either from Census or ABS annual population estimates. The ABS publishes population projections on a regular basis, but has not yet issued any since the 2006 Census.

The current source of population projections used in Stats & Facts is the Planning SA Population Enquiry System. Click here to access the online Population Projections site.

Below is an example of the types of projections available from the Planning SA site (www.planning.sa.gov.au), which can be accessed in either table or graph form.
