Waste & recycling education

We employ a Waste & Recycling Education Officer who can provide support with waste and recycling issues including educational assistance or advice relating to waste management to work with residents, community groups and schools.

By request, the Waste & Recycling Education Officer can attend your meeting or visit your school or class to talk about waste management or composting & worm farming.

Types of presentations
Waste education presentations and workshops include the following topics:

  • The three bin kerbside system
    • recycling - the importance of recycling right
    • what happens to waste once it leaves the kerb
    • waste minimisation and avoidance
    • our waste & recycling services
  • Home Composting & worm farming

Sessions are interactive, informative and flexible, and can be tailored to suit the needs of your group. We can combine any one of the above topics or tailor to your specific questions about waste.
Sessions are normally an hour but can be longer or shorter, depending on your needs.
