What is a parklet?

A parklet is a built platform that can consist of benches, planters, bike racks, chairs and tables that increases the area available for conducting business. Parklets also increase the visibility of a business and activate streets making them more attractive destinations.

A parklet is typically positioned over one or two car parking spaces and can transform an area, making it more inviting for people to stay and explore.

Here is an example of the parklet which was located on Beach Road, Christies Beach.
