Our libraries are places of literacy, learning, recreation, relaxation and community information. We have daily newspapers, books of most genres, magazines for most interests, CDs, DVDs and videos for loan. We also have a range of reference books. We have free wireless internet and computers. Toys are also available.

Library members can access the online catalogue and databases 24 hours a day. Membership of the library is free and open to all residents.

A wide range of community information is available at each branch.

We have branches throughout the city at Noarlunga Centre, Aldinga Beach, Aberfoyle Park (Hub Library), Seaford, Willunga and Morphett Vale (Woodcroft Library), as well as a mobile library and housebound service.

Latest in the libraries

The Woodcroft Library and Neighbourhood Centre is temporarily closed while we undertake an $8M redevelopment that will create a modern and environmentally sustainable building.

The redevelopment will include a complete refurbishment of the building, both inside and out, along with landscaping, a car parking upgrade and the inclusion of a host of green building initiatives.
Improved insulation and ventilation, rainwater capture and reuse and energy efficient lighting are features of the redevelopment.

Interactive screens in the new building will inform visitors about the building’s green credentials, which have been jointly funded by council and a $750,000 Federal Government grant.

The project will create more space for both the library and neighbourhood centre and a council customer service outlet will be available for the first time at Woodcroft. This will allow residents make inquiries and pay rates and dog registrations.

Library and neighbourhood centre services will be available from alternative locations during the building works, which are anticipated to be complete late this year.

Relocated library services include:

  • access to the mobile library on Bains Road in front of Woodcroft College.
  • an extension of the housebound service for older customers, who may otherwise find it difficult to get to the Hub or Noarlunga libraries
  • Babytime sessions offered at Woodcroft College Library at 10am Wednesdays
  • Storytime sessions offered at Woodcroft College Library at 10am Tuesdays
