Activities for people with disabilities

We provide a variety of recreation and social activities for people with disabilities. Benefits to participating include:

  • building community networks and friendships
  • developing skills and interests
  • increasing self-esteem and a sense of achievement
  • contributing to community projects
  • community integration and group participation.

Recreation and social groups

The Happy Wanderers and Care and Share groups meet twice a month. Activities include:

  • sports
  • day trips
  • guest speakers
  • movies
  • arts and crafts.

Dinner Clubs
Dinner clubs meet on Thursday evenings and enjoy socialising at different venues throughout the council area.

The Woodwork Shed
Our Woodwork Shed is available to residents with an acquired brain injury and provides a relaxed and social environment. Activities are held twice a week and include:

  • woodwork
  • wood burning
  • linking with other community facilities
  • social outings.

The Woodwork Shed is a joint project between Disability SA and the City of Onkaparinga.
