Children & families

Our Children and Families team works with children and their families to strengthen communities through improving the social and emotional wellbeing of families. We do this particularly through recognising and celebrating the valuable diversity of families in our region.

Initiatives include Participate and Learn Skills (PALS), Strengthening Families Brochure, Onkaparinga Family Support Agency Network (OFSAN), Child 2 Teen project, Children and Families Round Table and Family Wellbeing Grants.

Our approach is directed by the following key themes from our three year plan:

  • celebrate children and families by providing opportunities for children and families to come together, connect and celebrate community and family life
  • build strong families by providing information to children and families on programs and services based on personal and family development
  • build strong voices by improving opportunities for children and families to influence the planning and delivery of projects and programs in the region.
