The City of Onkaparinga offers a wide range of funding opportunities to help stage festivals, events and projects which benefit our communities.

For the 2016–17 financial year, through our various grants and sponsorship programs, we have awarded more than $511,000 to support local groups, not-for-profit organisations, schools and businesses. 

Applications open

Applications will be accepted from Monday 30 January until Monday 20 March for the 2017–18 funding round for the following:

Grants

  • Community Grants
  • Public Place Improvement Grants
  • Community Training and Development Fund*
  • Environment Grants
  • Every Generation Onkaparinga Grants
  • Local Heritage Incentive Scheme*
  • Minor Capital Works and Facilities Grants.

Sponsorship

  • Tier 2 – Festivals and events
  • Tier 3 – Community events and Christmas and carols events.

NEW Small Business Grants*

We are also introducing three business grants funded through the ON Business Partner Program. Grants up to the value of $3000 will be awarded in the following categories:

  • start-up businesses
  • marketing and communications
  • digital innovation projects.

*Applications for these grants are open all year. Please refer to the individual grant guidelines for full details.

How to apply

Guidelines and application forms will be available by 25 January 2017. Applicants will be advised by late June for funding after 1 July.

Is your organisation incorporated?

If your organisation is not incorporated or not recognised as a legal entity you will need to get an incorporated organisation to auspice your project/event.

If you are not incorporated, consider contacting the Community Services Board Onkaparinga City Inc who can act as your auspicing body. For further information contact Shana on (08) 8323 8395.

A completed auspicing form must be submitted as a part of your grant/sponsorship application.

Information sessions

Thinking about applying for a council grant?

Come to one of our FREE drop in sessions, no booking required.

  • Thursday 2 February 2017 at Woodcroft Neighbourhood Centre 5-6.30pm, and
  • Tuesday 7 February 2017 at Noarlunga Civic Centre 1-2.30pm.

Grant writing workshops

Four grant writing workshops are being offered to support organisations with preparing their grant/sponsorship application. The dates and locations are: 

  • Thursday 9 February, 5-9pm at Woodcroft Neighbourhood Centre
  • Tuesday 14 February, 10.30am-2.30pm at Woodcroft Neighbourhood Centre
  • Thursday 16 February, 5-9pm at McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre, and
  • Tuesday 21 February, 10.30am-2.30pm at McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre

Places are allocated on a first come basis. Maximum of 15 per workshop.
