Wine and wineries in the city

Come on in and discover the unique history of winemaking and wineries in the City of Onkaparinga region.

We have a collection of photographs and oral history interviews, both in written and audio format, all focusing on the history of wineries and wine making in the council region.

Listen to oral history extracts and read transcripts from interviews with leading wine makers in the district and local residents who describe early wine making and their involvement with wineries in the district.

Any of the oral history interview transcripts are also available to view from the Local History Collection located at Aldinga, Aberfoyle Hub and Noarlunga libraries. With over 170 oral history interviews in our collection, ask library staff to assist you in finding what is available or visit our Library Catalogue and search using subject alphabetical 'Oral history - Interviews - South Australia - City of Onkaparinga region'.

For more information, please contact Melissa O'Connor, Local History Officer on (08) 8384 0655 or email meloco@onkaparinga.sa.gov.au
