Celebrate Encounter Marine Park as the park of the month in January. Join in a range of fun and inspirational activities along the coast with the DEWNR education team.

Have you heard about the intertidal zone?

The intertidal zone is an area of land where the land meets the sea, and it is sometimes wet and sometimes dry. The intertidal zone is rich in microscopic sea life, which provides a bounty of food for the visiting birdlife.

Join experts from Bird Life Australia and other experienced ornithologists when they set up camp for a few hours with their ‘scopes and bino’s to watch the antics of the birds.

The DEWNR marine parks caravan, 'Coral', will also be on site to help entertain the kids with a swag of activities to learn more about the fascinating intertidal zone at Aldinga Reef Sanctuary Zone.

Suitable for all ages.
